S.H. ERVIN GALLERY

Located at the National Trust Centre on Observatory Hill, S.H. Ervin Gallery occupies a Georgian style building which dates from 1856, originally built as classroom accommodation for the Fort Street School. The S.H. Ervin Gallery is unique within Sydney for specialising in Australian art and culture, and presents a scholarly and engaging program of historical and contemporary exhibitions. Featuring high ceilings, gracious spaces, natural light, and modern art museum facilities, the S.H. Ervin Gallery offers an elegant backdrop for functions such as product launches, cocktails, exhibition viewings and presentations.

The Gallery accommodates up to 220 people for a cocktail-style function, 100 for a theatre style presentation or up to 100 for a seated dinner. The Gallery is available for hire outside of our usual opening hours (Tuesday to Sunday 11am – 5pm), all day Monday, or after 5pm Tuesday to Sunday.. Facilities including a lectern and screen for audio-visual presentations are available if required. We also have disabled access and toilets. Free on-site parking for up to 50 cars is available for your guests at the National Trust Centre.
